SundarSTEM School is proud to announce that, for the third year in a row, our brightest students have been chosen to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO)! The 2025 edition of IMO will take place in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, from the 10th to 20th of July 2025.
Muhamad Mahad Arif, Hashir Naimat, Muhammad Hasnat Farooq, and Muhammad Ammar will compete against top mathematicians from around the globe to put their problem-solving skills to the test. Our students’ hard work, dedication, and mathematical brilliance has earned them this great honor. We are confident that they will excel on this prestigious international stage!

This year, we are thrilled to honor the achievements of our talented students who participated in the Rainbow Mega Event, a prestigious Art and Creative Writing Contest. This inspiring event encouraged participants to showcase their storytelling skills through engaging narratives and imaginative illustrations.
Among our remarkable students, Syed Shuja Haidar from Grade 11 stood out by winning the gold medal for his outstanding work. His creative writing captivated both readers and judges with its depth and originality. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that Shahkaram and Syed M. Mustafa were recognized for their exceptional contributions and received special gifts. Their creativity and dedication shone brightly, embodying the spirit of the Rainbow Mega Event.

The META Cup, organized by Facebook, is an international programming competition open to all coders, from seasoned professionals to beginners, across the globe.

In the summer of 2024, a talented group of students from Sundar STEM School made history as part of Pakistan's team for the prestigious International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The team, comprised of Muhammad Mahad Arif, Hashir Naimat, Muhammad Daniyal, and Muhammad Hasnat Farooq from Sundar STEM School, alongside Ahmad Bhatti from Karachi and Razzi Hasan Masroor from the US, embarked on their remarkable journey to the UK. Their math teacher, Mr. Muhammad Ali, accompanied them as they set off for Bath University on July 14th.
The team received a warm welcome at Bath University, where they stayed until July 22nd. During their time in the UK, they visited iconic landmarks such as Stonehenge, Buckingham Palace, and explored the historic cities of Bath and London. These cultural experiences offered them a well-deserved break from the rigorous math competition.
At IMO 2024, the students faced a challenging set of mathematical problems, yet they excelled beyond expectations, securing a Silver and a Bronze medal, as well as an Honorable Mention. Their collective performance marked the highest overall score for Pakistan in recent years.
Upon their return, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Islamabad honored the team with certificates and cash prizes. Sundar STEM School was also recognized with a special shield for its students' outstanding performance.
The team members returned with a sense of pride, having not only proven their mathematical abilities but also gained invaluable cultural experiences during their time in the UK. The IMO 2024 will remain a cherished milestone in their academic journey.
From June 28 to July 4, 2024, the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) saw the participation of Pakistan's team among 38 other global contenders. This prestigious event, held in China, brought together the brightest young mathematicians from around the world to showcase their problem-solving skills and mathematical prowess.
Remarkably, four out of the six students on the Pakistani team hail from SundarSTEM, reflecting the institution's dedication to nurturing and developing exceptional talent in the field of mathematics. These students have demonstrated extraordinary dedication and skill, earning the opportunity to represent their country on an international stage.We extend our best wishes to the entire Pakistani team and particularly to our SundarSTEM representatives. We are thrilled to announce the remarkable achievement of six SundarSTEM students who have been selected among the top fifty students nationwide in the National Science Talent Contest (NSTC), held in June 2024. This is the first time our students have participated in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) selection process, and their outstanding performance has earned them a spot in the initial training camp. Over the coming months, these students will undergo rigorous testing, with five ultimately being chosen to represent Pakistan at the IPhO 2025 in France. We congratulate them on this incredible accomplishment and wish them success as they aim for a place on Pakistan's national team.
SundarSTEM School proudly secured first and second positions in the inaugural Forman Ignite programming competition held at Forman Christian College (FCC), Lahore. This achievement highlights our students' exceptional talent and dedication to coding and problem-solving. The teams demonstrated outstanding teamwork, technical skills, and innovative thinking, demonstrating SundarSTEM's commitment to academic excellence. In addition to these wins, another team from SundarSTEM secured the 5th position in the competition.

It is with great pleasure that we announce the selection of four outstanding students from SundarSTEM to represent Pakistan in the prestigious International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2024. Following a rigorous and competitive selection process, Ghulam Junaid, Kaleem Raza Syed, Muhammad Saram, and Muhammad Umair Ahmad Mirza have secured their positions on the national team. The IOI 2024 will take place in Alexandria, Egypt, from September 1st to 8th. This achievement marks a significant milestone for our institution, highlighting our students' exceptional talent and excellence on both national and international levels. The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) conducted a thorough selection process, showcasing their skills as among the best in the country. As they prepare for this esteemed competition, they have the full support and best wishes of their teachers, parents, and the entire informatics community in Pakistan. We have every confidence that they will excel and bring honor to our nation.
We are thrilled to announce that two of our students have won silver medals at the prestigious Asian Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO). This year marked Pakistan's first-ever participation in the APIO, and our students' remarkable performance has brought immense pride to our school and our country.
Our students not only excelled individually but also collectively, achieving a performance that surpassed Bangladesh and came very close to India's results. This outstanding achievement is particularly significant given that we are just starting our journey in this highly competitive field.
The Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) is an IOI-like competition for delegations within the Asian and Western Pacific regions. The first competition was organized by the Australian IOI team in 2007. APIO 2024 was hosted by China. This year teams from 35 countries participated in APIO

SundarSTEM made a remarkable debut at the recent IIOT 2024 competition, held online on May 11th, 2024. Though Pakistan was a guest country with only one participating team, our students shone brightly, bringing home an honorary bronze medal!

It gives us immense pleasure to share that with a score of 126, SundarSTEM students secured the second position in Asia (Region 20) in International PhysicsBowl 2024 held on the 21st of March 2024. The team comprised Muhammad Bilal, Shahbaz Mehmood, Muhammad Haseeb Ali Imran, Naveed Ahmed, Arif Salam, Khaliq Daad, Shah Zaib, Muhammad Mueez Aizdi, Muhammad Zain-ul-Abideen and Muhammad Ghulam Muhiuddin. Nearly 11,600 students from all across the world participated in the contest.
The contest tested students' understanding and application of concepts like mechanics, electricity and magnetism.
This triumphant moment for the school and the country is a testament to the power of hard work and the importance of correct direction and an environment conducive to learning.
It gives us great pleasure to share that four students from SundarSTEM have made it to Pakistan's national team for the 65th International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) 2024. Hashir Naimat, Muhammad Daniyal, Muhammad Hasnat Farooq and Muhammad Mahad Arif have earned coveted spots in the team after a competitive and thorough testing process conducted by the National Science Talent Competition (NSTC). The competition will be held between 11th and 22nd July 2024 at the University of Bath, UK. Here it is prudent to mention that this is the second time that our students will be representing Pakistan in the IMO.
As these budding mathematicians prepare for what is known to be a pinnacle of mathematical excellence, they carry with them the wishes of their teachers, parents and the entire mathematical community of the country. Indeed, we are very proud of them!

In the senior category, Faisal Saqib and Ghulam Junaid won bronze medals, and in the junior category, Muhammad Umair Ahmad Mirza clinched the gold medal, demonstrating outstanding achievement. Jawad Akbar Khan and Muhammad Saram secured silver medals, while Rafiullah and Muhammad Bilal won bronze medals.

One of our students, Ghulam Junaid, recently competed in the Games of the Future held in Kazan, Russia, where he achieved an impressive 30th place and was awarded a cash prize of $3,000. This remarkable feat is particularly noteworthy given that the competition saw participation from 107 countries worldwide. Remarkably, Ghulam Junaid was one of only two contestants representing Pakistan at this prestigious event.
Facebook META Hacker Cup is a highly competitive coding contest in which world class programmers from the world over participate each year (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_Hacker_Cup).

The Pakistani IMO-2023 team took part in the math Olympiad contest in Chiba Japan which was held from July 2 to July 13. Four of the six students selected to represent Pakistan at this contest were from SundarSTEM. It was the first time these four students had participated in a live math contest and the first time they had travelled outside Pakistan. There were contestants from over a hundred countries and our students intermingled with many of them and found that the top performers at the contest were similar students like them, just better prepared.
After the contest, the students went sightseeing in Tokyo and found Tokyo Disneyland to be truly amazing!
The students returned to Pakistan determined to excel in the very next competition in which they would get the opportunity to participate.
A group of our students from SundarSTEM recently took part in the renowned CodeRush Online Competition on June 23, 2023. This highly-anticipated event was hosted by the prestigious Student Club of Information Technology University Lahore and organized by Google Developer. The competition drew considerable attention, with 133 skilled participants from a variety of educational institutions, including both schools and universities.
Demonstrating their exceptional talents and resolve, our student, Ghulam Junaid, distinguished himself by securing an impressive second place in the competition. Likewise, Ahmad Imran Malik performed remarkably, achieving a noteworthy third place, further underscoring the quality of our student body.
To acknowledge their significant accomplishments, Ghulam Junaid and Ahmad Imran Malik were awarded cash prizes of Rs. 5000 and Rs. 2500, respectively. This distinction underscores their remarkable talent and unwavering dedication to STEM fields.

SundarSTEM Computer Sciences students participated in the FAST University SOFTEC Speed Programming Competition on 7th May, 2023. A group of nine students from Class 9 represented the school at the university level competition. The event drew over 200 teams from more than 50 universities, colleges, and schools from all over the country.
Out of the three SundarSTEM teams, each consisting of three students, one team secured the 1st Runner-up Shield which came with a cash prize of 40,000 PKR. We congratulate the students for their remarkable achievement.
SundarSTEM School is very pleased to share that its students have once again proven themselves in the field of programming. Two teams from SundarSTEM School participated in the recent NaSCon Event held at FAST, Islamabad, where they competed against more than 70 teams from various universities across Pakistan in a speed programming competition.
We are proud to announce that one of our teams, consisting of Muhammad Umair Ahmed Mirza, Kaleem Raza Syed (class 10th IOI), and Jawad Akbar from class 9th IOI, emerged as the champions of the competition. Their coding skills, problem-solving abilities and creative approach to programming set them apart from the other competitors and earned them a well-deserved victory.
Moreover, our other team comprising of Faisal, Aneeq, and Abdullah Jameel of class 9th IOI also put up an impressive performance and secured the 4th position. Their hard work and passion for programming are a reflection of the educational environment at SundarSTEM School.
Both teams received certificates and prizes for their outstanding performance. We would like to extend our congratulations to both teams and their mentors for their exceptional achievements.
SundarSTEM's IOI (International Olympiad of Informatics) students recently participated in DAIRA, hosted by FAST University Faisalabad, Chiniot Campus. SundarSTEM's Class 9 and 10 students participated in the Speed Programming Contest, forming two teams: Turtle Team and Tiger Team. Despite intense competition, both teams were able to solve all the problems given to them in the allotted time, securing the 1st runners up position and 2nd runners up position respectively.
The organizers at FAST University Faisalabad were most impressed by the agility and skill demonstrated by our young and promising students. As a result, they have expressed an interest in visiting SundarSTEM for future initiatives.
This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work put in by both the students and their mentors at SundarSTEM. National Science Talent Contest (NSTC) was held in March 2022 for selection of the first batch of fifty-four students from across the country and six students would finally be chosen from this batch to represent Pakistan in IMO 2023. About six thousand high school students took part in the competition from across the country and twelve SundarSTEM students qualified in this first round.
On 7th October 2022, the second contest took place and nineteen students were shortlisted out of the first batch of fifty-four students. Seven of these nineteen were from SundarSTEM.
On 8th February 2023, the last round of tests was undertaken by COMSATS to select the final team of six students that would represent Pakistan in IMO 2023. We are proud to state that four out of these six finalists are from SundarSTEM. We congratulate all these six students and their families and hope that they will win medals for themselves and for Pakistan in the competition to be held in Japan from July 2 to July 13, 2023.
In October 2022, nineteen high school students from across the country were chosen by COMSATS for the second training camp and subsequent selection of the final team of six students who would participate in the IMO 2023 contest to be held in Japan in July 2023. Out of these nineteen students, seven belong to SundarSTEM.
Today, 8th February 2023, these nineteen students, including the seven from SundarSTEM, participated in the final selection test held by COMSATS. Based on the results of this test, the team of six students shall be finalized by COMSATS in the coming days.
Nineteen students from across Pakistan are presently in the run for IMO Pakistan 2023 team from which six finalists will be selected in February 2023. This team of six students will participate in the International Math Olympiad to be held in Japan in July 2023. These nineteen students took part in Iranian Geometry Olympiad that was held last October. Seven of these nineteen are from SundarSTEM.
The two toppers from Pakistan scored 16 points and both were from SundarSTEM. There were six other students from Pakistan that scored 8 points and one of them was from SundarSTEM.

On Friday 7th October 2022, a contest was organized by COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Lahore Campus, after completion of the initial Training Camp for selection of Pakistan’s IMO 2023 Team. The initial camp comprised of fifty-four students and twelve of them were from SundarSTEM.
We are delighted to report that seven students from SundarSTEM are amongst the nineteen candidates shortlisted for this second stage. We appreciate the hard work of these students and wish them good luck towards selection into the final batch of six students that will represent Pakistan in the International Math Olympiad (IMO) to be held in Japan in July 2023.
On 1st of October, 2022 SundarSTEM students for the first time participated in a Scrabble Competition, the 6th Inter-School Scrabble Championship 2022. Pakistan Scrabble Association in collaboration with the World Times Institute organized the Championship at Aitchison College, Lahore.
A total of 32 schools and colleges from all over Pakistan participated in the Championship starting from Category A (8 years Old) to Category E (14-16 Years Old). It was an individual event and all the participants had random opponents selected for all the four rounds of the championship. Out of the five SundarSTEM students, two won all four rounds of the Championship against their designated opponents. Wazir Bakhtiyar Mehdi, Class 10 student won all four rounds and by a big margin of 492 cumulative points won the Runners Up Trophy at the Championship. The students learnt new words and experimented with word formation, making longer words from the existing words to score more points. The environment was very competitive. As a school entering a Scrabble Championship for the first time, securing a trophy is very heartening. The winners have hoisted the school banner high.
SundarSTEM School is proud to announce the accomplishment of our students at the prestigious European Junior Olympiad in Informatics (EJOI) 2022. Pakistan participated for the first time in this competition in which 172 contestants from 32 countries took part virtually. The contest was hosted by Ukraine from 21st to 23rd September, 2022.

Students from SundarSTEM School participated in a Speed Coding Competition held at Expo Center, Karachi from 24th to 25th August, 2022. Two teams from SundarSTEM competed in the University Level Competition and secured 3rd and 4th positions. This is in line with the past performance of SundarSTEM in previous university level coding competitions at FAST Islamabad and FAST Lahore.

A university-level programming competition was held at FAST University Islamabad on 21st May 2022 in which 40 teams of three students each participated from across the country.
SundarSTEM team BINARY.BEASTS comprising of Grade-9 students secured 3rd position in the contest and our school was the only high school that participated in this university wide competition. The first position was secured by Pentateuch (From GIKI - GIK Institute of Sciences & Technology) and the second position by Team Renegades (PUCIT - Punjab University College of Information Technology).
It is indeed an honour for SundarSTEM that its computer science teams are participating in university-level contests in the country and securing high positions!
A computer science contest was held at FAST University’s Lahore campus on 26th and 27th March in which 135 teams from universities all over Pakistan participated. Each team comprised of three students.
Two teams from SundarSTEM participated and ours was the only high school that took part in this contest – all other teams were from universities. One of our teams came 13th in the competition while the second team took 20th position.
